Elegibility

Students applying to ASE normally require a minimum GPA of 3.0. However, ASE will consider applicants with a lower GPA upon receipt of two letters of recommendation that make a persuasive case for the suitability of a student.

Minimum Enrolment

Courses will only run if there is a viable level of enrolment. Acceptance to courses cannot be guaranteed, but every effort will be made to provide students with the courses of their choice.

Refunds policy

Advanced Studies in England incurs many expenses as it plans for and implements its programme. Many of these costs cannot be recovered when a student withdraws after accepting an invitation to the Programme. Thus, we must observe the following policy on refunds in order to protect the interests of all students and the financial commitments of ASE.

  • This policy applies to all students who withdraw from Programme participation for any reason, who fail to appear when the Programme commences or who are dismissed from the Programme.

  • Once students are admitted to the Programme, they must, in writing, accept or reject the offer within two weeks of the offer of admission. At that time, a non-refundable $750 deposit must be submitted.

  • Students who officially withdraw, in writing, from Programme participation by the deadline by which the balance of fees is due will not only forfeit the non-refundable $750 Programme deposit but will also be billed for all expenses already incurred or committed by ASE for the student’s participation.

  • Students who withdraw from Programme participation after the final payment deadline will be held accountable for the entire Programme fee.

  • Only for well-documented, serious emergencies or medical problems will ASE consider a modification of any of the policies described above. All appeals will be decided by the Programme Director.

In the unlikely event of Programme cancellation by ASE, or withdrawal of support for study at ASE/in the UK by the student’s home institution, participants will be offered the option either of joining a future ASE semester or summer school subject to availability, or of receiving a full refund, including deposit and any fees already paid.

Federal legislation requires institutions of higher education to share with all prospective members of the community a copy of their Annual Security Report (ASR), which is available through Franklin & Marshall's Department of Public Safety. The ASR contains information about the college, its facilities, crime statistics, and where to report any crimes, among other information.
