ASE and Oxford
ASE’s connection with the University of Oxford.
A taste of life as an Oxford undergraduate.
Our Academic Adviser at Oxford, Dr Andrew Bell (Senior Tutor at University College), is in close communication with ASE throughout the academic year, and plays an active role in faculty searches at the University of Oxford for our tutorials and classes - particularly our Advanced Tutorial Programme. These are closely modelled on the one-on-one tutorial that is the traditional teaching method at the University of Oxford.
During our regular full-semester programmes, ASE has a week-long residency at the oldest of the Oxford colleges, University College - or 'Univ'. ASE classes continue in the unique environment of this historic college, and students get a taste of what it is like to be an Oxford undergraduate.
“ASE’s courses continue its 35-year tradition of pairing enthusiastic students with expert tutors. I’m delighted that more students than ever before will be able to work with ASE’s fantastic faculty to explore their interests in a way that’s both structured and personalised.”
— Dr Andrew Bell, Senior Tutor of University College, Oxford
“In my 30 years as Oxford Academic Adviser to ASE, I have seen at first-hand what a terrific opportunity the tailor-made tutorial opportunities offer, with experts, often from Oxford, working with students one-on-one every week and giving custom-built feedback and discussion.”
— Prof. Chris Pelling, Emeritus Regius Professor of Greek, University of Oxford (former academic advisor to ASE)
